Lucy Kwee

Imagine a sunny afternoon, filled with the sound of family conversations in multiple languages, the smell of spices from different cuisines mixed in the air.

This was my reality as a child, growing up as a second-generation Asian in a multicultural family. This rich background and the life experience I gained shaped me into who I am today: Lucy Kwee, guide on your path to self-discovery, balance and inner peace.

My professional journey began in the world of biomedical health sciences, where I spent many years conducting passionate scientific research in the field of oncology, within both academia and the pharmaceutical industry. There I learned a great deal about the complexity of the human body and the limits of science. However, after a deliberate break to be able to be there for my children, my heart drew me to a different path – that of the human mind and the depth of our emotions. Therefore, I chose a new adventure in psychology, driven by my passion to help others reach their full potential.

What drives me is the deeply held belief that everyone has the power to grow, regardless of the challenges they face. With a big heart for my profession and with empathy and commitment, I guide my clients in a way that is attuned to their unique background and experiences.

YUNONI

The meaning behind the name

My practice is named Yunoni, a tribute to the initial letters of the names of my three beloved children.

This name symbolizes warmth, love, connection, personal growth, empathy, strength and perseverance. It reflects my commitment to family and the deep values I bring to my work.

EXPLAINED

Experience as a parent

In addition to my cultural and professional background, my experience as a parent is an important pillar in my practice. I have been blessed with a child with autism, children who are elite athletes, and gifted. These wonderful and diverse experiences have given me unique insights into the joys and challenges involved in raising children with special needs, supporting the aspirations of young athletes, and mentoring gifted children.

While parenthood offers moments of pure joy and pride, it is also accompanied by moments of intense heaviness and difficulty. It has taught me the importance of patience, resilience and adaptability, especially during the difficult times. These values, which I apply lovingly in my family, I bring to my work with clients. With warmth and understanding, I love to help you find your own path and grow, no matter what challenges you face.
