My story

Imagine a sunny afternoon, filled with the sound of family conversations in multiple languages, the smell of spices from different cuisines mingling in the air. This was my reality as a child, growing up as a second-generation Asian in a multicultural family. This rich background and the life experiences I have gained have shaped me into who I am today: Lucy Kwee, a guide on your path to self-discovery, balance and inner peace.

My professional journey began in the world of biomedical health sciences, where I spent many years passionately conducting scientific research in the field of oncology, both in academia and the pharmaceutical industry. There I learned a lot about the complexity of the human body and the limits of science. However, after a well-considered break to be there for my children, my heart drew me to another path – that of the human spirit and the depth of our emotions. So I chose a new adventure in psychology, driven by my passion to help others reach their full potential.

The meaning behind the name

My practice is called Yunoni, a tribute to the initials of my three beloved children’s names. This name symbolizes warmth, love, connectedness, personal growth, empathy, strength and perseverance. It reflects my dedication to family and the deep values that I bring to my work.

Experience as a parent

In addition to my cultural and professional background, my experience as a parent is an important pillar in my practice. I am blessed with a child with autism, children who are top athletes, and who are highly gifted. These wonderful and diverse experiences have given me unique insights into the joys and challenges that come with raising children with special needs, supporting the ambitions of young athletes, and mentoring highly gifted children.

Although parenthood offers moments of pure joy and pride, it also comes with moments of intense heaviness and difficulty. It has taught me the importance of patience, resilience, and adaptability, especially during difficult times. These values, which I apply with love in my family, I bring with me into my work with clients. With warmth and understanding, I am happy to help you find your own way and grow, regardless of the challenges you encounter.
